Fred Herman Loyd, Jr., age 86, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home. He was born in Vance County on September 13, 1929 to the late Fred Herman & Ida Fuller Loyd. He was a Chief Engineer for Exxon Corp. for 42 years.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Walter Barnes, and his only brother, Claude H. Loyd, Sr.

Mr. Loyd is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Faye Waddell Loyd; 2 daughters: Teresa Loyd Barnes and husband Joe of Lumberton and Felisa Loyd Moore and husband Mark of Evergreen; 1 son, Jeffery W. Loyd and wife Lori of Fort Mill, SC; 1 sister-in-law, Janie Inez Loyd; 5 grandchildren: Melissa Faye Hardy, Brandon Blake Moore, John Nicholas Moore, Lauren Brooke Loyd, & Tristan Wayne Loyd; 2 great-grandchildren: Miranda Lashea Hardy & Kellan Michael Hardy; and several nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church prior to the service.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Preacher Eston Hanks & Pastor Bruce Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
