Franklin Jenkins was born on September 2, 1948 to S.F. Jenkins, Jr. and Geraldine Page Jenkins. His older sisters, nieces, and nephews lovingly referred to him as "Bud". He was a lifelong resident of Robeson County and Ashpole Swamp.

Franklin was a farmer, auctioneer, storyteller, and dedicated coon hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Brenda J. Thompkins.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pattie, and his son, Travis, of Fairmont, NC; his daughter Leah of Wilmington, NC; his sister, Joyce J. Horne of Laurinburg, NC; along with extended family, friends, and his four-legged companions: Dottie, Patch, and Houston.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Cemetery, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC. Family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and at the home.
