Mrs. Frankie Jean Sutton, age 78, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 after having fought a valiant battle against cancer since 2003. On this day, she allowed the Lord to take her home where there are no battles. She was born in Robeson County on October 27, 1932 to the late Joseph Franklin Britt and Lillian Pridgen Britt.

She is survived by her husband, Hollis Sutton of the home; two sons, Darryl Sutton of Annapolis, MD and Jeff Sutton and wife, Sandra of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Kay Sutton Hatcher of Winston-Salem, NC and Rosemarie Sutton Gibbs and husband, Shawn of Annapolis, MD; one brother, Hobert Britt of Lumberton, NC and eight grandchildren, Kevin Hatcher, Austin Hatcher, John Christian Mott, Jr., Sutton Mott, Stephanie Sutton, Nicholas Sutton, Andrew Gibbs and Joseph ??Jag? Gibbs.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1:30PM at Broad Ridge Baptist Church in Lumberton with Rev. Bill Pealer and Rev. Jim Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Sutton Family Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
