Frances Ann
Scott
Oct 25, 1938 — Mar 29, 2025
Lumberton
Frances Ann Lewis Scott, 86, of Lumberton and Pembroke, NC, passed away peacefully at home and is now reunited in Heaven with her husband of 60 years "Scott", her parents and many precious family members and friends who went before her.
She was born in October 1938 in Lumberton and grew up in Pembroke, where she was known as Frances Ann. She lived on the family dairy farm, worked diligently alongside her parents, Gaston and Gertrude Lewis, milking 75 cows twice a day, driving tractors and doing chores. Frances loved the people of Chestnut Street Methodist Church in Lumberton, her home of faith for decades, as well as Pastor Herbert Lowry and his wife Connie, and the many preachers who preceded him in service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also loved supporting her friends and neighbors through the work of Stevens Ministry at the church, a counseling organization, where Frances and Scott led a team of volunteers who assisted those in personal crisis.
Frances is survived by her delightful children, Lisa Pittman and Jeff Scott (Debbi) and their children Jeffrey and Dylan (Laura). She also leaves brother-in-law Karl Scott (Cindy) and her nephew Danny (Liberty), as well as many beloved cousins. Many favorite Bible verses resonate with Frances, among them Romans 8:28 - God causes all things to work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His Purpose. Frances hopes to see you in the life everlasting in Heaven.
The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 10:00-10:45 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, also in the chapel, with Rev. Herbert Lowry and Rev. Keith Bagwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Doris Kaye Paul Memorial Endowment Fund, memo Frances Scott. Mail to: Chestnut St. Methodist Church, 200 E. 8th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
