Mrs. Frances Wood Lawson 79, of Fairmont passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairmont, a Sunday School class teacher and married for 58 years.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday June 28, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

A Funeral service will be held Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Fairmont with Revs. Sean Gallagher and Steve Simpson officiating.

Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents Carl Wood and Irene Hubbard, two brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her husband James Lawson of the home; five daughters, Ruth Simpson and husband Steve of New Bern, NC, Lois Huddleston and husband Danny of Roanoke, VA, Rachel Strickland and husband Bob of Valley Head, AL, Esther Callahan and husband Ronnie of Orrum, NC, and Martha Coleman and husband Gentry of Cerro Gordo, NC; five brothers, Connie Wood of Floyd, VA, Leon Wood of King, NC, Frank Wood of Copper Hill, VA, Robert Wood of Bassett, VA, and Richard Wood, of Floyd, VA; one sister, Ruby Moran of Floyd, VA; and nine grandchildren, Rebekah and Matthew Simpson, Stacy, Erin, and Renee Huddleston, Austin, Laken, and Ashton Callahan, and Kacie Coleman.
