Mrs. Frances Higley Collins, 91, of Lumberton, NC, died Friday, March 11, 2022. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 11, 1931 to the late Gilbert P. Higley, Sr. and the late Dola Pittman Higley. She was a teacher for Public Schools of Robeson County for many years until retirement.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Collins, Jr., and two daughters, Kerry C. Floyd and Mary C. Dean.

She is survived by her sons-in-law, Walter Joe Dean, Sr. of Beaufort, NC and Furman Floyd of Fairmont, NC; a daughter, Libbey Inabnit (Davis) of Conway, SC; two brothers, Gilbert Higley, Jr. (Shelby) and Ronald Freeman, all of Lumberton, NC; a sister, Von Barber of Castle Hayne, NC; her grandchildren: Jake Dean, Jr., Collins Hewett (Trey), Davis Inabnit, Jr. (Bobbi Dawn), and Ara Heinz (Mike); and her great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Faulk, Samantha and Aubrey Heinz, and Addison, Kate, and Tripp Inabnit.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC. Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at Godwin Heights Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC.
