Fannie Rhae Hilburn Hodge, age 97, of Lumberton, NC passed away at her residence on Friday, October 2, 2015. She was born in Bladen County on September 19, 1918 to the late Downey D. and Cora Lee Whittington Hilburn, Sr. She worked for 33 years with Southern Bell Telephone in Lumberton and Laurinburg, and retired in 1982. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 82 years. The Family would like to acknowledge the acts of kindness and service provided by Southeastern Home Hospice workers. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, and two sisters. Mrs. Hodge is survived by her sons, Braxton B. Hodge III (Carolyn), and Thomas D. Hodge (Wanda) all of Lumberton; a daughter, Beth Mowrey (Frank) of Summerville, SC; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two nephews, one niece, and one great-nephew and one great-niece. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. The graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Flowers will be received or memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
