Obituary

Faith Hammonds was a light to all who knew her. Born on March 6, 2002, she came into the world with a spirit that was both strong and gentle. From an early age, Faith had a smile that could brighten the darkest room and a laugh that was contagious. She carried within her a quiet strength, yet she lived with an open heart that embraced everyone she met. Faith's life was rooted in love. She was a devoted daughter, a protective sister, a loyal friend, a wife, and most importantly, a mother whose heart belonged completely to her daughter, Kaislyn Cummings.

The bond between Faith and her precious little girl was unshakable. Whether they were splashing together under the sun, sharing songs and bedtime giggles, or simply holding one another close, Faith found her greatest joy in motherhood. Faith was proud to be a graduate of Fairmont High School, Class of 2020, where she made many friendships and memories that she carried throughout her life. Faith also cherished her family deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sherry Hammonds, whose love and guidance shaped her life and whose spirit she now joins in eternal peace.

Left to carry her memory are her father, Donnie Hammonds, her loving husband, Zacharias Cummings, her siblings: Francise Hammonds (Warren, OH), Donnie Jr. Hammonds (Orlando, FL), Brandon Hammonds (Fayetteville, NC), Joshua Hammonds (Fairmont, NC), and Hope Hammonds (Fairmont, NC).

Faith was also an aunt who was dearly loved, leaving behind a host of nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and great-nephews who will never forget her gentle presence and warm embrace. Among her dearest family bonds was her special cousin, Taylor Hunt, whom she treated like a sister and cherished deeply. She shared a lifelong bond with her best friend, Keyshania Edwards, and was also blessed with the friendships of Bryan Larsod, Karla Rodriguez, and Gabriela Mancera, with whom she created memories of laughter, comfort, and joy.

To her friends, Faith was more than a companion — she was a sister at heart. Her passions reflected her personality: Faith loved singing with all her soul, cooking meals that gathered people together, and enjoying the company of her loved ones. She also loved to draw and was very artistic, often expressing herself through her creativity. She had a way of turning ordinary days into extraordinary moments. Those who knew her will remember her kindness, her strength, and the way she made each person feel valued and loved. Though her time with us ended too soon on September 5, 2025, Faith's life was not measured by the years she lived but by the love she gave. She taught us that the truest legacy one can leave is not material, but the memories, laughter, and love that live on in the hearts of others. Her smile, her laughter, and her light will remain with us always — in her daughter, in her family, in her husband, in her friends, and in every life she touched.
