Ms. Evelyn Hunt Jacobs, age 93, of Lumberton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Ms. Evelyn was born April 7, 1930 in Robeson County to the late Braxton Hunt and the late Mary Etta Hunt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delton Jacobs; a grandson, Marty Hunt.

Ms. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and sewing, especially her hand-made quilts. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed taking trips either with her Senior traveling group, or with friends and family. During her life time she visited almost every state in the United States.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a son Ronald Jacobs of Raeford, NC; three daughters, Phyllis Hunt of Fairmont, NC, Sharon Hunt (Wallace) of Orrum, NC, and Janice Hunt (L.J.) of Pembroke, NC; a sister, Lena Oxendine (Delton) of Wilmington, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; 9 grandchildren, Carol, Jonathan, Jeremy, Jeanne, Marcus, Blake, Matthew, Jada, and Kelli; 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, 3047 E. McDonald Road in Fairmont, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
