Mrs. Evelyn Snipes Edwards, age 91, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. Mrs. Edwards was born January 22, 1932 in Robeson County to the late Ben Snipes and the late Tishie Lovette.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Edwards; a sister, Essie Snipes; and three brothers: Foster, Ronald J. and FB Snipes.

She is survived by two sons, John Robert Edwards (Lynn) of Orrum, NC and Adam Walters (Angelica) of Fairmont, NC; one brother, SJ "Tib" Snipes (Judy) of Tennessee; one sister, Addie Edwards (Gary) of Fairmont, NC; two grandchildren, Chassidy Edwards (Eric) and Robert Tyler Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Erica Lynn Walker and Dawson Lane Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in  Fairmont, NC. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Floyd Memorial Cemetery, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.
