Evelyn Walters Eagerton, age 88, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Eagerton is survived by her son, Sidney Eagerton, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; her daughter, Carolyn Maughn of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Joseph Walters of Hickory, NC and Everett J. Walters, Jr. of Fall River, MA; three sisters, Margaret Singleton of Lumberton, NC, Betty Malcolm and Fran Finley, both of Sumter, SC; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1:00PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
