Obituary

Mrs. Evelyn T. Collins, 97, died peacefully Sunday January 23rd at Southeastern Hospice House. She was born February 29, 1924 in Lumberton, NC to the late Jesse Taylor and Sidney Phillips Taylor.

Mourning her passing are all the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, plus their spouses, of her surviving sister Janice (W.A.) Stone and of her deceased siblings, Elaine ( Laughton) West, Hilburn (Pat) Taylor, Eugene (Emily) Taylor, Elizabeth "Lib" (Luke) Davis, Bobbie (Edwin) Davis.
Others that will miss her presence is the extended family she shared with her husband of 51 years Berklyn "Bert" Collins who preceded her in death.
In addition, she is survived by a special cousin, Cathy Phillips Suggs and her family of Cedar Creek.
To honor and pay respect to our "Sis" and Aunt Evelyn there will be a graveside service held Tuesday, January 25th, at 2:00 at Broad Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be her former pastor Rev. Mark Meadows from Antioch Baptist Church, where she was the oldest living member prior to her demise.
