Evelyn Godwin Burnett was born on July 12, 1940 in Robeson County, NC to the late Mr. William Daniel Godwin and Mrs. Claudia Hammonds Godwin. She passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the age of 82 at UNC Rex Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.

Evelyn was married to her beloved husband, Bobby, for 62 years and from this union were born three sons: Jeffery, Ronnie, and Michael.

Evelyn dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on July 4, 1975. She continued to serve her God, Jehovah, despite her failing health along with her husband until her death. When her health allowed, she was often seen "arm in arm" with her devoted husband attending their place of worship, the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bobby Burnett of the home; three sons: Jeffery (Zelda), Ronnie, and Michael, all of Lumberton, NC; two grandchildren, Cody (Abby) and Bobby; a great-grandson, Jackson Avery; and several nieces and nephews – one of whom, Veronica, was able to assist her at the hospital during her sickness. She also leaves a host of spiritual brothers and sisters who will cherish the memory of a beautiful person inside and out.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM.
