Eva Hammonds Wilkins, 79, of 555 Allenton Road, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at
Southeastern Hospice House. She was born to the late Jesse and Ruth Wilson Hammonds
on November 10, 1928 in Bladen County.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wilkins.
She is survived by six sons, Charlie Wilkins, Forrest Wilkins, Danny Wilkins, Larry
Wilkins, Robert Wilkins and Chalmers Wilkins all of Lumberton; one daughter, Angie
Kennedy of Lumberton; three brothers, Chalmers Hammonds of Charlotte, Bernice
Hammonds of Lumberton and Gary Hammonds of Bladenboro; four sisters, Alice Parnell
of Lumberton, Elizabeth Holmes of Lumberton, Vercie Hickman of Hope Mills and Joyce
Pait of Pinehurst; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Floyd Memorial Chapel at
2:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Egger and Rev. Robert Nolley officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd
Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
