Eva Wilkins Barnes, age 81, of Lumberton, NC passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Highland Acres Nursing Center in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on September 8, 1931 to the late Walter Wilkins and the late Lillian Scott Wilkins. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Paul Barnes, Sr.; a son, Tommy Barnes; brothers, Buddy Wilkins and David Wilkins; and sisters, Evelyn Davis and Doris Howard. Mrs. Barnes is survived by three sons, Hubert "Son" Barnes, Jr. and wife Kathy of Smith's Station, AL, Johnny Barnes and wife Saria, and Kenny Barnes and wife Mary, of Lumberton; two daughters Jean Hayes and husband Gerald and Sandra Bishop and husband Roger of Lumberton; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
