Eula Mae Herring Melvin, 95, of Greensboro, NC died at her residence on Thursday, November 24, 2011. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 14, 1916 to the late Mike and Alice McPhatter Herring. She retired as a bookkeeper from Burlington Industries after thirty six years of service

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Blackmon and a daughter, Georgeanna Choate.

Mrs. Melvin is survived by a son-in-law, Bert Choate of Aberdeen, MD; a sister, Louise Huggins of King, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Gardens of Faith Mausoleum where she will be entombed with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. A time for visitation will follow the service.
