Esta Britt Nye, age 86, of Lumberton, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Lumberton Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 22, 1932 in Robeson County to the late Enoch Britt and the late Edna Taylor Britt. She was formerly employed with the Call Center for First Union Bank.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Gary Nye and Billy Nye; a brother, Horace Britt; and seven sisters: Fannie Prevatte, Annie Britt, Ruth Branch, Juanita Fuller, Theda Mae Freeman, Ellen Rowan, and Betty Ann Brock.

She is survived by her son, Terry Nye of South Carolina; several grandchildren; a special niece, Beverly Reaves and husband Joe of Orrum; a special friend, Mary Pittman of Orrum; and several other special nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the graveside.
