Mrs. Essie Neal Hunt Leggett, age 76, of Fairmont, NC, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, SC.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 27, 1945 to the late Silas Hunt and the late Beulah Dial Sanderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Leggett; her daughter, Lisa Hunt; her stepfather, Marvin Sanderson; one brother, Pernell Hunt; a brother-in-law, Lonny Campbell; and a sister-in-law, Irene Hunt.

Mrs. Essie is survived by her two daughters, Belinda Leggett Hunt (Ardeen, Jr.) and Tammy Leggett Davenport (Evan), all of Fairmont, NC; five brothers: Redell Hunt of the home, Adnell Hunt of Leland, NC, Earl Sanderson (Wilma) of Pinetops, NC, Bobby Sanderson (Janice) of Pembroke, NC, and Gregory Sanderson of Fairmont, NC; three sisters: Jessie Sampson of Garner, NC, Annie Campbell of Morganton, NC, and Joanne Hayes (Corky) of Orrum, NC; five grandchildren: Matt Davenport, Nick Leggett, Colin Deen Hunt, Madison Davenport, and Colby Deen Hunt; one great-grandchild, Weston Deen Hunt; and two special granddogs, Graphix Leggett and Remmie Hunt.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 3:00PM at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.  A time of visitation will follow at the cemetery.
