Mr. Ertle Ray Taylor, age 85, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his home. He was born in Robeson County, NC on July 23, 1938 to the late Homer Frank & Thelma Taylor.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Frank Taylor, Jr., Shelby Smith, and Margaret Singletary.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Taylor of the home; his son, Ertle Ray Taylor, Jr. (Robin) of Lumberton, NC; his daughter, Pam Bass (Jeff) of Lumberton, NC; 5 grandchildren: Brittany Bass, Christopher Bass, Nick Hursey, Matthew Hursey, and Jase Johnson; 3 great-grandchildren: Easton Hursey, Elias Oxendine, and Harrison Bass; two brothers, Jackie Taylor (Peggy) and Johnny Taylor (Pam), both of Lumberton, NC; and one sister, Betty Russ (Cecil) of Elmwood Park, IL.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Michael Bowen officiating.
