Ertle Max Carter's Obituary
Ertle Max Carter, age 85, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Greenbrier Retirement Home in Fairmont. He was born on October 4, 1933 in Robeson County to the late Theodore Carter and the late Sadie Stone Carter. He served honorably in the US Army and was later employed with Paul Stone Auto Parts.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Carter, and a daughter, Marcia Carter English.
He is survived by one daughter, Terri Carter Collins and husband Kenny of Lumberton; two stepdaughters: LaDonna Stone Adams and Wanda Britt, both of Lumberton; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Stone Family Cemetery with Rev. James Graham officiating. Following the burial, the family will receive friends at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 2402 N. Roberts Avenue, Lumberton, NC 28358.
