Ernest Hunt, age 63, of Lumberton, NC died at his residence on Monday, April 2, 2012. He was born in Scotland County, NC on January 11, 1949 to William Ernest Hunt and Marie Ivey. He worked in construction as a pipe layer.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Ernest Hunt; his maternal grandparents, John Wesley and Emma Clark; a grandson, Justin Tyler Hunt; and a sister, Rosie Lee Epps.

Mr. Hunt is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty-two years, Lois Hunt of the home; three children, Samantha Hunt of the home, Debbie Juarez of CA and Scott Hunt of Ashville; his mother, Marie Chavis Carter of Fairmont; one brother, Johnny Hunt of Lumberton; thirteen sisters, Brenda Deese of TN, Cindy Chavis, Wendy Chavis, Carolyn Graham and Delois Chavis all of Fairmont, Lannie Brewington and Peggy Clark of Lumberton, Willa Hunt of Rowland, Willow Manor Freeman and Jan Clark-Sampson of Fairmont, Margaret Hanchy of Lumberton, Dorothy Chavis of Rowland and Betty Locklear of Pembroke; two grandchildren of the home, Brandon and Brooke Blackmon and six other grandchildren, Quinton Hunt, Karissa, Vivianne, Gil and Morgan Juarez and Chelsea Hunt; and also two nieces that he considered his children, Ashley Chavis and Alaina Hunt.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Harvest Church Assembly of God in Raynham with Rev. Terry Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow in Raynham Indian Cemetery.

Visitation will be of Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
