Mr. Ernest Dunlap Edwards, Sr., age 74, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. He was born in Norfolk, VA on November 17, 1945 to the late Lacy Edwards and the late Clara Edwards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and was later employed with a local textile plant for several years.

He is survived by two sons, Buddy Edwards and wife Lori and Eric Edwards and wife Loretta, all of Lumberton, NC; seven grandchildren: Brandi Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Brittany Smith, Travis Edwards, Destiny Edwards, Tryston Edwards, and Shayne Godwin; four great-grandchildren: Caiden Hall, Greyson Hall, Harper Edwards, and Rylee Burnett; and one sister, Margaret Apoka of Lawton, OK.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel.

Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
