Ernest Cummings, age 81, of Fairmont, NC passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2025 at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Fairmont.

Ernest was born in Robeson County on May 18, 1944 to Temous Cummings and Lula Bright Cummings. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Millie Cummings Hammonds, and Elizabeth Cummings Willis, and three brothers, Jakie Cummings, E. J. Cummings, and Edwin Cummings.

Ernest was a farmer in Cumberland County for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Ernest is survived by his brother, Bill Cummings and wife Sarah, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Oxendine Cemetery, Oak Grove Church Rd, Lumberton, NC 28358.
