Ernest John Barny III, 72, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home in Fairmont. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on May 22, 1945 to the late Ernest John Barny II and the late Marjorie Baird Barny. He was a veteran of the US Army and was formerly employed with the Administration Department in the public school system.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gregory Barny.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Barny of the home; his children: Christopher Barny and wife Denise of Murfreesboro, TN and Victoria Barny of Jesup, GA; a step-daughter, Dana Landmark Montez of Whiteville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith Barny of Thonotosassa, FL; and five sisters: Sherry Aldredge of NJ, Deborah Vandernoof of NJ, Linda Frain of PA, Janice Tojanowski of CT, and Meryl McGinley of NJ.

A time of visitation will take place on Friday, May 26, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

There will be no funeral service.
