Epsie Faye Stone, age 85, born February 6, 1941 in Lumberton, NC, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas Stone and Mabel Alice Herring Stone; six siblings, Wilton "Rocky" Stone, Mary Lou Cusimano, Lillie Ann Britt, G.A. Stone, Earl Stone and Joyce Jackson.

She is survived by her four children, Linda Little (Dennis) of Lumberton, NC, Jeannie Johnson (Donald) of Beaufort, SC, Sydney Stone of Burlington, NC and Dawn Gorter (William) of Oak Island, NC; her sister, Marilyn Meroney of Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Throughout her life, she worked so hard to support her children - always a go getter and very determined.  Her fun personality and laugh would capture anyone's attention.  Her many made-from-scratch recipes were one of a kind.  Gardening was another favorite hobby.

Her love for church was apparent.  She loved spending time with her siblings and adored her many nieces and nephews.  They were all an important part of her life.  She had so many talents – as a teenager, she was a marshall in the 8th grade, later joining the Orrum School Basketball team.  She learned very young to help cook and work on the farm in the tobacco and cotton fields to help raise her younger siblings, after the loss of their mother at a young age.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1:00PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road, Lumberton.
