English Troy Nye, Jr., age 90, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County, NC on February 2, 1922 to English Troy Nye, Sr. and Bessie Britt Nye. Mr. Nye was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II and was wounded in France in the Normandy Invasion. He previously worked as a salesman in food service.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Nye of the home; a son, Steven Nye and wife Linda of Shelby; two daughters, Susan Lewis and husband Vince of Wilmington and Elizabeth McKee and husband William of Charlotte; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Proctorville Cemetery with Rev. Linda Nye and Father Roger Kappel officiating.
