Mrs. Emily Jean Smith Elliott was born May 18, 1927 in Bergen County, NJ to the late Arthur Smith and the late Martha Taylor Smith.

Mrs. Elliott graduated to Heaven on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the age of 98.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Elliott; her daughter, Susan Jean Elliott Belles; her brothers, Arthur Smith, Jr. and David Taylor Smith.

Mrs. Emily married the love of her life, George John Elliott on December 18, 1948. Emily and George received Christ as their Savior in 1957 at separate Billy Graham Crusade services.

Emily and George served as Home Missionaries under The Fellowship of Baptists for Home Missions from 1963-1991. They moved to Cary, NC and worked with Colonial Baptist Church (now Shepherd's Church), teaching and working with teens in puppet ministry, etc. They then moved to Robeson County (Lumberton area) in 2000 to help with CBM Ministries in camp work and Released Time classes. They later began work in after -school classes at various schools, (5 years old to teens).

George graduated to Heaven in 2014. Emily continued to do the children's work until age 91.

Mrs. Emily leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Stephen John Elliott and Bruce David Elliott; six grandchildren, Christopher Belles, Jonathan Belles, Cynthia Belles Jones, Thomas Elliott, Kandi Elliott, and Cori Elliott Love, and eighteen great-grandchildren, other family members and many friends in Christ.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Green Sea Baptist Church, 1241 Green Sea Road, Green Sea, SC 29545.

A Memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 5:00 PM at the Church.
