Mr. Elwood Hairr, age 86, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020. He was born in Sampson County, NC on May 14, 1934 to the late Albert Hairr and the late Clara Warren Hairr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later became an employee of the State of NC.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pinkie Allen Hairr; four brothers: Paul Hairr, W.B. Hairr, Lennon Hairr, and Barton Hairr; and three sisters: Margaret Hodges, Juanita Batts, and Llewelyn McLamb.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Hairr of Lumberton, NC and William Hairr of the home; two grandchildren, Rob Cooley and Abby Cooley, both of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Betty King of Clinton, NC; and a special friend, Annell Britt of Raleigh, NC.

A private graveside service will be held at Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.
