Mrs. Elsie Rae Bass Covington, 86, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Harborview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 24, 1936 to the late Lee Bass and the late Ada Barnes Bass.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Covington; a son, James Covington; two brothers, Wilbert Bass and Lloyd Bass; and a sister, Mary Major.

She is survived by a son, David Covington of Lumberton, NC; a daughter, Betty Savage of Lumberton, NC; two grandchildren, Brian Savage and Allison Savage; and two great-grandchildren, Keira Savage and Daniel Savage.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Pastor Jeff Broadwell officiating.
