Elsie Violet Carpenter, 77, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital of Fayetteville. She was born in Hertfordshire, England on November 1, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Muriel, of England, and her granddaughter, Jennifer C. Bishop. She is survived by her husband, Homer Carpenter, Jr., of the home, her children, Carl Carpenter and wife, Ann, of Wallace, Cindy Horne and husband, Bobby, of Lumberton, and Scott Carpenter and wife, Runell, of Lumberton, nine grandchildren, Rev. Mike Bishop, Michele Falcon, Damien Spivey, Ashley Horne, Brook Grainger, Liz Pekarek, Matthew Horne, Blake Parker, and Angel Parker, seven great-grandchildren, one grand-dog, Buster, and several nieces and nephews.
