Ellen Inman Church Smith, 44, of Lumberton died on Monday, September 26, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Robeson County, NC on December 7, 1966 to Albert Leroy Inman, Sr. and Doris Fields Inman. She worked in the public school system as a teacher.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Leroy Inman, Sr. and a sister, Diane Inman Kuchenberg.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her mother, Doris Fields Inman of Tar Heel; her husband, Dalton Smith of the home; daughter, Joy Brooke Church of the home; brothers, Robert Howell Inman of Fayetteville, Albert Leroy Inman, Jr. of Tar Heel, Kenneth Edgar Inman of Tar Heel, Ronald Calvin Inman of White Lake and Michael Eugene Inman of Tar Heel; sisters, Nancy Inman Rippey of Norwood and Connie Inman Kinlaw of Tar Heel.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Purdie Methodist Church in Tar Heel with Dr. Tim Reeves and Dr. Matt Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Purdie Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
