Elizabeth Lowery Barnes, born August 23, 1944, in Robeson County to the late Arnettie Lowery, departed this life to be with the Lord at 80 years old on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Barnes; a son, Jimmy Lowery; three daughters: Mary Elizabeth Lowery, Sheila Lowery, and Peggy Barnes; a sister, Mildred Bell; and a special son-in-law, Matthew Stephens.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Curtis Barnes, Terry Barnes, and Kevin Lowery, all of Lumberton, and Mack Lowery of Fairmont N.C.; six daughters: Linda Stephens, Heather Barnes (Della), Kelly Callahan (David), Melissa Simmons (Kelly), Alice Williamson (Eric), all of Boardman N.C., and Vanessa Danford (Johnny) of Laurinburg, N.C.; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; a very special cousin, Amos Bell, Jr. of Lumberton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Bishop Kenneth Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
