Edward Thomas Walters, age 70, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 7, 2024 , surrounded by his family. He was born on Sunday, September 20, 1953, in Robeson County, NC to the late Lyn and Vera Walters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Byrd, and a grandson, Aaron Michael McCormick.

Mr. Walters is survived by his wife, Audrey Taylor Walters; sons, James Walters (Kimberly), Travis Walters (Morgan), and Darren Mercer (Denna); daughter, Crystal McCormick (Michael); sister, Beth Callahan; grandchildren: Stetson Walters, Savannah Walters, Jake Mercer (Brooke), Kayla Mercer Graham (Ken), Hannah Grace Barker (Ryan), and Lilly Faith Jackson (Blake); and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Sand Hill Baptist Church, 2726 Pope Crossing Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a f uneral service will be held at 3:00 pm at Sand Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC 28358. Rev. John Bruce will officiate the service.
