Mr. Edward Ben Smith, Jr., age 71, of Red Springs, NC, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on May 19, 1952 to the late Edward Ben Smith, Sr. and the late Gloria Marie Johnston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and later became a police officer.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Ricky" Smith and Charles "Chip" Smith; his sister, Diane Britt; and his grandson, Brandon Dixon.

He is survived by his son, Edward Ben "Benji" Smith III (Candice); his daughter, Allison Smith Branch (Jerry); his stepdaughter, Jennifer Rogers (Wavon); his grandchildren: Brianna Ralston (Shadix), Adalyn Smith, and Avery Branch, his great-granddaughter, Novalee Ralston; his step-grandchildren: Megan Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Brandon Branch, Raven Branch, Channon Branch, and Trinity Branch; and his step-great-grandchildren, Jaxson Branch and Azariah Branch.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 N. Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
