Edna Russ Haywood, age 87, of Lumberton passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her daughters. Edna was born on December 14, 1938, in Robeson County to Woodrow Russ and Mary Wilson Russ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; William Hoyet Haywood; sons, Hoyet Ray Haywood, and Richard Haywood; brothers; William Russ, Cecil Russ, and Jerry Russ; sister; Evelyn Lockamy.

Edna is survived by her daughters; Debra Gause (Mike) of Lumberton, NC, and Alisa Bryant (Steve) of Lumberton, NC; sister; Mary Elizabeth Cropsey (Dennis) of Chicago, Il.; brothers, Thomas Russ Lumberton, NC, Harold Russ (Joyce) of Lumberton, NC, Donald Russ (Becky) of Lumberton, NC, Dannie Russ (Shirley) of Little River, SC; special sisters-in-law; Betty Russ of Chicago, Il, Dianne Russ of Lumberton, NC; eight grandchildren, Kristina, Jessica, Amanda, Miranda, Richard, April, Nikki, Amy; 10 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358. Pastor Tim Holden, and Mark Stamper will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
