Josephine ??Jo? Beasley Sprague, age 88, of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Wesley Pines Retirement Community in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 21, 1923 to Forney and Missouri Parnell Prevatte. She previously worked as a switchboard operator for Southern National Bank.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forney and Missouri Parnell Prevatte and her former husband, Boyd Beasley.

Mrs. Sprague is survived by her husband, Art Sprague of the home; three sons, Jerry Beasley and wife Sylvia of Orrum, NC, Mark Beasley of Lumberton, NC and Mark Sprague and wife Pat of Rochester, NY; a daughter, Brenda Sprague Jordan and husband Mike of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Millard Prevatt of FL and Ralph Prevatte of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Evelyn Warwick of Lumberton, NC; four grandchildren, Jason and wife Miranda Beasley, Garret Beasley and Kerri Jordan and Lori Sprague Hartman and one great-grandchild, Avery Hartman.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Wesley Pines Retirement Community with Rev. Dr. Wayne Tyner and Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in St. Pauls.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Wesley Pines Retirement Community, 1000 Wesley Pines Road in Lumberton.
