Eddie Lee Powers, 67, of Lumberton, NC, died peacefully, surrounded by his wife, kids, family, and friends on June 2, 2024, at Duke Hospice House in Durham, NC. He was born to the late Eddie C. Powers and Johnnie Wilt, both of Lumberton, NC, on July 13, 1956.

In addition to his parents, Eddie Lee is preceded in death by sisters, Linda Wilson, Shelia Wilson, Elizabeth Wilt, Suzy Wilt, and a brother Jean Wilt.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Powers of the home; sons, Branton Powers of Bladenboro, NC and Cruz Fetterman (Brittany) of Breaux Bridge, LA; stepson, Thomas Tatum of Hope Mills, NC; daughters, Jennifer Powers (Elissa) of Greenville, SC, and Casey Powers and Stephanie Powers (Jessie), both of Lumberton, NC; stepdaughters, Gwen Chavis (Roy) of Hope Mills, NC, Chyenne Tatum (Paul) of Lumberton, NC; 13 grandchildren: Tyler Lawson (Kayleann), Tanner Powers, Garrett Powers, Braylon Bailey, Cullen Bailey, Cruz Fetterman, Jr., Robyn Fetterman, Konner Fetterman, Emily, Zoe, and Colby Chavis, Mason Pittman, and McKinly Bullard; 2 great-grandchildren, Lilianna Rae Lawson and Memphis Reid Powers; a brother, Danny Wilson (Nadine) of PA; sisters, Edith Taylor and Shirley Powers, both of Lumberton, NC, and Teresa Brewer Langley of Hope Mills, NC; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eddie was a loving husband and father, a wonderful friend to so many and never met a stranger. He loved laughing and retelling the same amusing stories, he loved making a fuss over his Jeep, grilling while entertaining family and friends, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching "Westerns," and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an honorary father figure to so many. He was an active member at church and loved his church family as his own.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at United Pentecostal Church, 1011 Carthage Rd., Lumberton, NC. Burial will follow the service at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Rd., Lumberton, NC 28358.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family or funeral home for funeral expenses.
