Mr. Earl Dean Jacobs, age 68, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born on September 4, 1943.

Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his father, Henry Allen Jacobs; his brothers, James Henry Jacobs and Willie Mac Jacobs; and his sister, Carolyn Chavis.

He is survived by his mother, Ethel Burnette Jacobs of Lumberton; his wife, Judy Brooks Jacobs of the home; two daughters, Elaine Butler and husband, Cecil and Meshel Hunt and husband, Marty, all of Lumberton; three brothers, Edward Jacobs of Lumberton, Donald Ray Jacobs and Gene Harold Jacobs, both of Rennert; two sisters, Ethelene Jacobs Bell and Brenda Jacobs McNeil, both of Lumberton; three grandchildren, Joshua Allen Cool, Jacob Cool and Corey Jacobs.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Graylon Mitchell and Rev. Eugene Chavis. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens in Lumberton.
