Douglas Edwin Smith LUMBERTON - Douglas Edwin Smith, 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at UNC Memorial Hospital. He was born in Sanford, NC on October 1, 1955. He is survived by his parents, Edwin and Bobbie Jean Smith, of Lumberton; one brother, Gregg and sister-in-law LeeAnn of Virginia Beach, VA ,two nieces, Alicia Smith of St. Louis, MO and Isabelle Smith of Tucson, AZ. Mr. Smith graduated from Lumberton High School in 1973. He also attended Fayetteville Technical Institute where he studied architectural drafting. Mr. Smith went to have a career as an Architectural Structural Designer working at various times in Raleigh and Greenville, SC. A time of visitation will take place on Wednesday , September 25 , 2013at 1:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25 , 2013 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Steve Little officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Lumberton.
