Dorothy Elizabeth Groves Wiggs, age 99, of Lumberton, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born on April 29, 1917 to the late James Groves and the late Rossie Merritt Groves.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Cleburne Wiggs; a daughter, Sue Ringland; two brothers, Vernon Groves and Horace Groves and two sisters, Evelyn Merritt and Rebecca Cook.

She leaves to cherish her memories with a son, Deems Wiggs (Lilly) of South Mills, NC; four daughters, Jean Seward (Charles) of Virginia Beach, Va, Rexie McBeath (John) of Eugene, OR, Trudi Strickland (Ronnie) of Lumberton and Vicki Leech (Steve) of Lincoln, NE; eleven grandchildren, Mike, Rob, Ronnie, Kristin, Andy, Sara, Jeremy, Courtney, Zachary, Jaime and Shannon; twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 7:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Gary Strickland officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

Entombment will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at LaFayette Memorial Park, in Fayetteville, NC.
