Mrs. Dorothy Burchette Stephens, age 84, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on June 29, 1929 to the late Luther Lee Burchette and the late Ruby Estelle Parnell Burchette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Lee Stephens; two sons, Terry Stephens and Ronald Stephens; one brother, Johnny Burchette and her grandson, Daniel Westbrook. Mrs. Stephens is survived by three daughters, Karen Hardee, Pamela Westbrook and Felicia Hardee and husband, Tim, all of Lumberton; four sisters, Rebecca Herring and Frances Davis, both of Lumberton, Barbara Townsend of Iron Station, NC and Carol Johnson of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 7:00-9:00M at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 3:00PM at Raft Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Hall and Rev. Larry Hayes officiating.
