Dorothy West Schneider, age 96, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at her home. She was born in Robeson County on December 4, 1919 to the late Alford & Fannie West. Dorothy was an avid gardener who loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Leo Schneider; her son-in-law, Freddie Kozej; 2 sisters: Iris Walters and Mable West.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Kozej of Lumberton; 3 grandchildren: William Maxwell and wife Lisa of Lumberton, and Lori Kozej & Laura Kozej, both of Cary, NC; and 3 great-grandchildren: Joey Brown, Nicholas Brown, & Tommy Maxwell.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
