Ms. Dorothy Bell Hunt, age 83, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. She was born in Robeson County on April 15, 1941 to the late James Bell and Ida Locklear Bell.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Ray Hunt; a grandson, Stephen Hunt; and a sister, Doris Locklear.

In Dorothy's spare time, she loved to watch Jimmy Swaggart and she was also known for her great faith.

Dorothy is survived by her sons: Edwin Hunt (Anita), Ricky Wayne Hunt (Barbara), Donald Lee Hunt, and Larry Dean Hunt, all of Lumberton; her daughters, Linda Lowery and Brenda Ransom (Tommy), both of Lumberton; a nephew, Larry Dean Locklear; and 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 1:00-2:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00PM with Rev. Sanford Chavis officiating.
