Doris Townsend Lewis, age 83 of 2785 Leggett Rd. Fairmont passed away on April 4, 2014 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born August 31, 1930 to Arthur Melton Townsend and Annie Hyatt Townsend. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Perry officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Melton and Annie Townsend; her husband, Robert Earl Lewis; two sisters, Betty Ann Rogers and Jerry Sue Townsend; and one brother, Arthur Melton Townsend Jr. She is survived by two sons, Ron Lewis and wife Betty of Augusta, GA, and Andy Lewis and wife Sharon of Fairmont; one daughter, Denise Branch and husband Glenn of Fairmont; one sister, Peggy Rose Meares of N. Charleston, SC; six grandchildren, Amanda, Cathy Jo, Missy, Suzanne, Tyler, and Ava Lyne In lieu of flowers Memorials can be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church.
