Doris "Mimi"
Lanier Malone
Mar 2, 1941 — Apr 14, 2026
St. Pauls
Doris L. Malone, 85, of St. Pauls, North Carolina transitioned from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on April 14, 2026. She was born on March 2, 1941 to the late John Dalton Lanier and Mildred Lanier Wikoff.
Doris loved her family, her friends and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She always had the biggest smile and the biggest heart. She never met a stranger and all that knew her loved her. Her passing leaves a void that will never be filled, but we take comfort in knowing we will see our Mama/Mimi again.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Howard Eugene Malone.
She is survived by her daughters, Bobbi M. Ellis and Melody M. Hyatt (Tommy); one sister, Barbara L. Bishop; her five grandchildren, Brandon S. Ellis (Courtney), Michael C. Ellis, Matthew H. Ellis (Kristin), Hilary A. Starr (Stephen), and Austin T. Hyatt; her 13 great-grandchildren, Eric N. Hunt, Ian S. Ellis, Ana Bell Ellis, Eli C. Ellis, A. Skyy Sanderson, Ariel S. Ellis, Tylan L. Walters, Jameson C. Ellis, Kerrigan R. Ellis, Harrison G. Starr, Summer R. Starr, Rhett A. Starr, Sadie Grace Starr and a grand-puppy, Millie Layral-Hyatt
The family will be gathering at 91 Hyatt Road in St. Pauls, NC.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1:00pm at Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery, 5176 Barker Ten Mile Road in Lumberton, NC, with Pastor Stephen Starr officiating.
