Doris Ann Nance Hunt, age 73, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Charlotte, NC on February 4, 1953, to the late William & Flora Nance.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Earl Nance and William Earl Nance.

Doris is survived by her husband, Johnny Hunt of the home; her son, Johnny Hunt, Jr. (Lori) of Belmont, NC; her daughters, Linda Jordan (Derron) of Stanley, NC and Barbara Hunt of Sanford, NC; her grandchildren: Parker Hunt, Laney Jordan, Sierra Jordan, Peyton Whitener, Nikki Hunt-Suddreth, Jordan Wilson, and Cheyenne Hunt; 5 great-grandchildren, along with 4 on the way; three sisters: Teresa Sexton of Loris, SC, Sonja Pope of New York, and Earlene Sharpe of Denver, NC; and her pet companion, Peanut.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gary Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
