Doris Walters, age 86, of Fairmont passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11:00AM in Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont with Rev. Harvey Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Barnesville Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. She was born February 10, 1929 in Columbus County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Elvie Ellis Hammonds; her husband, Guthrie Walters, Jr.; two brothers, Tiffany and Irvin Hammonds; and a sister, Mary Garrell; a grandson, Chris Parker. She is survived by a son, Guthrie "Ray" Walters (Teresa) of Fairmont; three daughters, Audrey W. Allen (Charles) of Fairmont, Myra Allen (Wayne) of Florence, SC, and Ann Parker (Roger) of Fairmont; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
