Doris Bryan Creech, 87, of Brunswick, GA, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 9, 1935 to the late Leo T. & Ora Bryan.

A careerlong educator, Doris began her teaching career in the same community she grew up: Lumberton, NC.  She moved with her husband, Aron, to Henderson, NC in 1973 where she continued to teach. She worked for Vance County Schools as an elementary school teacher, Kerr-Vance Academy as a teacher, and Vance-Granville Community College as an adult literacy teacher. Doris was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma.

Doris is survived by her son, Bryan Creech and wife Ann; her daughter, Leigh Dougherty and husband Chris; her grandchildren: Jonah Creech, Jordan Creech, Faith Ann Creech, Brooke Dougherty, and Briana Dougherty; and her sisters, Betty Mercer and Shelby Musselwhite.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Murray Bryan, and her husband, Aron Creech.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
