Mr. Donnie Lee Hunt, age 86, of Fairmont, NC born March 23, 1938 departed this life to his Heavenly home on Monday, November 4, 2024.

He was a man of strong faith in God. He taught Sunday School for several years. He was the Christian example to all that met him. One of his accomplishments that he was so proud of to share with others, was that for 22 years straight, he did not miss a Sunday being in Church. His main goal in life was to lead others to Jesus Christ. He could be found out and about visiting the physically sick as well as the spiritually sick pointing them to Jesus Christ. His love for his family was immeasurable. He was not one to verbalize love, his actions toward his family showed his love, and we all know that actions speak louder than words. With his family, he wanted them to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He would give counsel based on the word of God because he would say, that is the only thing that would stand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hunt and Betty Hunt; his wife, Millie Grey Oxendine Hunt; a daughter, Donna René Hunt.

He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Henry Hunt and wife, Angie of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Rosalind H. Strickland and husband, A.C. of Lumberton, NC and Carol H. Efird and husband, Junior of Parkton, NC; two sisters, Mary Davenport and husband Jackie and Rose Lewis both of Fairmont, NC; four grandchildren, Hannah, Rebekah, Beth and Liz; two great-granddaughters, Kylasia and Kaylee; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc. 1549 Marion Stage Road. in Fairmont, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 198 Pleasant View Church Road, Fairmont, NC with Rev. Charles Ray Cummings, Bishop Tim Holden, and Rev. Tommy Sands Carter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
