Donald Ray Hunt, 69, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his father, Al Norton; brothers, James, Hunt, Michael Norton, Ronald Hunt; and sisters, Annie Neal Cummings, Earnie Neal Britt, Nita Rose Norton and Jean Norton.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Norton; wife, Marie Hunt, a son, Ronald Ray Hunt (Misty) of Lumberton; a daughter, Marguerita Hunt of Lumberton; brothers, Sammy Norton (Pam) of Fairmont, Tommy Norton (Crystal) of Lumberton, and Lacy Norton (Betty) of St. Pauls; sisters, Almina Norton and Sue McNeill, both of Lumberton, Diana Norton of Pembroke, Willie Neal Moore of Hope Mills, and Rosie Norton; a granddaughter, Katelyn Hunt; a very special niece he considered like a daughter, Donna Norton Purcell; a special niece, Aubrey Smith; a special friend, Jackie Jacobs; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Smyrna Baptist Church in Lumberton, with the funeral to follow at 3 p.m.  Burial will be at Robeson Memorial Park.

The family will receive family and friends other times at 802 Smithmill Road, Lumberton, NC.
